The database contains recordings both in Flemish and in Dutch as spoken in Flanders (about 1/3 of the speakers), as well as recordings in Dutch as spoken in The Netherlands (about 2/3 of the speakers).

FRESCO, a polyphone-like telephone speech database in French, was produced as part of the SpeechDat(M) project. Containing approximately 35,000 utterances recorded from 1,000 callers over the terrestrial telephone network in France, it offers immediately usable and relevant speech for the training, assessment and deployment of speaker-independent speech recognisers based on phoneme models or word models.

The database consists of read speech. A prompt sheet with a unique identification number has been distributed to the potential callers.
The speech data is recorded with digital lines (ISDN), resulting in A-law format (8 bit), 8 kHz sampling rate. The data collection comprises 1000 speakers, with a particular care of a balance with respect to gender. The age of the callers were to be between 16 and 65 (No controlled distribution).

It is the SieTill database, consisting of 730 speakers (338 female, 392 male), and 36000 utterances. Recording were made via an Automatic Speech Server attached to an ISDN-line. The speakers called from different locations from Germany using their personal telephone sets.

VoiceMail consists of 17,5 hours of read acoustic speech divided into 9,5 hours of transliterated speech and 8 hours of non-transliterated speech recorded over the digital telephone network (ISDN) with 921 speakers originated from the USA. It contains orthographic transliteration for about 25,000 utterances (of 34,912 utterances in total).

The Italian Fixed Network Speech SpeechDat(M) Corpus version 1.0 was recorded within the scope of the SpeechDat(M) project (LRE-63314), funded by the European Commission.
