JDIC Dictionary
The JDIC is a collection of dictionary files compiled within the JMdict/EDICT and KANJIDIC projects.
It is basically a Japanese English Electronic Dictionary, but other languages are being added little by little. It comprises:

a) The KANJIDIC, a composite KANJI dictionary file.

b) The EDICT, a general Japanese-English Dictionary of 120,000 entries.

c) Subject-Specific Dictionary Files:
- The ENAMDICT file: Japanese proper names, place-names, surnames and given names.
- The COMPDIC file: terms used in the computing and (tele)communications industries.
- The LIFSCIDIC file,: Japanese-English Life Science dictionary in the EDICT format. This file contains 34,274 Japanese bio-medical words.
- The FINMKTDIC file: concatenation of a glossary of financial terms (FINDIC) and a business & marketing glossary (MKTDIC).
- The LAWDIC file: glossary of legal terminology with about 6,000 terms.
- The BUDDHDIC file: extract of about 39,000 entries from the Digital Dictionary of Buddhism (DDB).
- The ENGSCIDIC file: 14,000 terms relating to engineering and science.
- The RIVERWATER file: a version of the River and Water Resources Glossary produced by the Infrastructure Development Institute - Japan.
- The CARDIC file: a version of K. Tomita's Car_Dic file.
- GAIDIC (GA): a file of gairaigo which have been collected from various sources.
- The MISCDIC file: concatenation of several small glossary files.

d) Japanese-Other Language Dictionary Files:
- The JDDICT (Japanisch-Deutsch Dictionary) file, 211,000 entries.
- The J-FRENCH file: 17,000 entries from a Japanese-French dictionary and 41,000 entries from another one.
- The JSVEDIC (Japanese-Swedish) file.
- the JHUNGDIC (Japanese-Hungarian) file, 48,000 entries.
- The JSPANISH dictionary file, 20,000 entries.
- The J-RUSSIAN file .
