AGROVOC thesaurus

AGROVOC is a multilingual thesaurus covering terminology of agriculture, forestry, fisheries, food and related domains. It was developed by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the Commission of the European Communities, in the early 1980s.

The AGROVOC thesaurus is available in the FAO five official languages (English, French, Spanish, Chinese and Arabic), as well as in 12 others languages.

It contains (in 2009):

- 28773 terms in Persian
- 27737 terms in Hindi

Some resources are under construction in others languages : Korean, Malay, Russian, Turkish, Telugu and Moldavian.

This database is updated by FAO roughly every three months.
