Hungarian Telephone Speech Database
The MTBA is a Hungarian database of telephone speech, in which the major dialectal variants are represented. 500 speakers were recorded from all over the country; they were asked to read a given text material into the phone. This material was composed of application words, numbers, dates, spelling and names, phonetically rich sentences and words.
This database is different from Speech Dat in that the phonetically rich sentences and words have been segmented and labelled at phoneme level, making it possible to train phoneme based recognisers.
This is a valuable resource for the training and testing of teleservices, and, thanks to the phonetic richness, for the training of speaker independent recognisers.
