Mandarin Emotional Speech Database

This is a speech database of read speech recorded by 18 males and 16 females invited to simulate five emotions (anger, happiness, sadness, boredom, and neutral).

Speakers had to read 20 different meaningful sentences of 1 to 6 words in Mandarin Chinese. They had the possibility to record the sentence as many time as needed.

This represents a total of 3,400 emotional speech sentences, from which 839 have been selected (sentences in which emotion is clearly identified by listeners) to take part to the final listening test.

Work is still under progress to enlarge the database.
