TLEC (Thai Large Vocabulary Continuous Speech)
The TLEC database comprises 248 speakers (124 males and 124 females) in four sets: the phonetically balanced set, the language model training set, the language development test set and the language model evaluation test set. There are two environments: office (20 dB) and quasi-quiet rooms for clean speech purposes (30 dB).
The speech was recorded on a DAT and then transferred to a PC to and re-sampled at 16kHz and 16 bits. The data was then stored as NIST sphere files and compressed with shorten, similar to the TIMIT database.
Two transcription files accompany all signal files: one orthographic transcription and one phonetic transcription.
