Newcastle Electronic Corpus of Tyneside English
NECTE is a corpus of dialect speech from Tyneside in North-East England. It is based on existing materials collected during two projects : the Tyneside Linguistic Survey project (late 60’s) and the Phonological Variation and Change in Contemporary Spoken English project (1991-1994).

It is available in several formats : digitized audio file (wav, 12000 Hz 16-bit mono), standard orthographic transcription, phonetic transcription and POS tagged version with CLAWS4 tagger (xml-encoding compliant with the TEI standards).

The NECTE corpus was released in 2005.
