Speech Corpus for Punjabi
This database for Punjabi comprises recordings of syllables, frequent words, digits, phonetically rich sentences, prosody rich sentences, domain-specific texts and news texts. Professional speakers (male and female) were recorded in noise free and unechoic studio conditions.
Sampling rate: 44,1kHz at the resolution of 16 bits in stereo mode.
Hierarchical annotation of speech units: sentence, word, syllable.
It has been compiled with two other corpora for Hindi and Marathi. The aim is to facilitate the analysis of the acoustic and phonetic structures of Indian languages, and to create useful resources for the development and testing of speech recognition and synthesis systems.
