IV2 Multimodal Biometric Database
The IV2 database is a multimodal database containing 430 records from 315 subjects : 219 have only one session, 77 subjects two sessions and 19 subjects three sessions.
This is a 19 Go database designed for monomodal or multimodal use, each session containing:
- 3D facial datas (captured with a 3D laser scanner),
- 2D talking faces audio-video sequences,
- 2D stereoscopic images (with two pairs of synchronized cameras),
- iris images (with an infrared camera).
IV2 stands for "Identification par l’Iris et le Visage via la Vidéo". The data collection has been realized in France during the Techno Vision program and has been supported by the French Research Ministry and the Ministry of Defense. It was intended to acquire resources in order to lead an evaluation of existing systems on iris, 2D and 3D faces, talking faces verification, eyes detection and face 3D reconstruction.
Audio-video sequences contain special features which are known to disturb biometric systems' efficiency, such as :
- illumination (playing on the light's intensity and origin),
- quality (simultaneously recording with a digital camcorder and a webcam),
- pose (subjects have been asked to move their eyes to different places),
- expression (subjects have been asked successively to have a neutral expression, to close their eyes, to smile, to be surprised and disgusted).
