Hakka Read Speech Corpus I

This is a speech corpus in Hakka, a Chinese dialect. It contains recordings in the most widely spoken versions of Hakka in Taiwan: the Sixian and Hailu dialects.

The database includes recordings from:
- 97 speakers (41 males, 56 females) reading a total of 160,000 syllables in the Sixian dialect (duration: 13.7 hours),
- 6 speakers (2 males, 4 females) reading a total of 28,000 syllables in the Hailu dialect (duration: 2.3 hours).

It has been single channel recorded and stored at the sampling rate of 16 kHz.
