Madrid Speech Corpus
The Madrid Speech corpus contains 6 recordings of spontaneous interviews and dialogues in which 7 women and 7 men participated. Speakers were aged of 18 to 60 years old. Each of them produced between 9 and 58 utterances.
The database contains a total of 475 utterances (3,358 syllables). Orthographic transcriptions are provided with prosodic annotations in the XML-format (intonational phrase, utterance types, paralinguistic phenomena, ...). Utterances having the best acoustic quality were segmented in syllables and transcribed phonetically.
This database was created in the same way as the Mexico City Speech Corpus (see U-S0275 for a full description) in order to study prosodic differences between these two varieties of Spanish.
