ProGmatica
ProGmatica is a spontaneous speech corpus of broadcasted television material in European Portuguese (interviews, political debates, informal conversations). It contains 20 hours of natural verbal interactions recorded between 2003 and 2005 and converted to digital format.
It is a multi-speaker corpus where linguistic, paralinguistic and extra linguistic information are labelled and related to each other.
The database is organised according to the following typology of speech act communicative goals:
- To obtain a listerner's reaction,
- To fulfil social functions,
- To persuade,
- To relate the speaker's propositional content with the truth,
- To compromise.
The annotation comprises:
- Narrow phonetic transcription;
- Simple orthographical transcription;
- Morphosyntactic annotation;
- Prosodic labelling;
- Emotion annotation: neutral, joy, sadness, fear, indignation, surprise, anger;
- Style information: +formal/+-formal/+-informal/+informal, +polite/-polite;
- Communicative situation information: date, program, type (debate, interview, conversation, etc.).
It was designed to provide Portuguese Text-To-Speech systems (and more generally man-machine interaction systems) with pragmatic and emotional dimensions.
