The Helsinki Corpus of Swahili
The Helsinki Corpus of Swahili comprises 12.5 million words from news texts (extracted from Swahili newspapers and from the news site of Deutsche Welle). It also contains extracts from prose texts, including fiction, education and sciences.
It has been annotated with SALAMA (Swahili Language Manager) for lemma, part-of-speech and morphology, and also contains information on the etymology of loan words and glosses in English.
