PsyCoL Maltese Lexical Corpus
The PsyCoL Maltese Lexical Corpus (PMLC) is a text database of 3,323,325 tokens in Maltese. It contains texts collected from the following on-line newspapers (Malta Right Now, Illum, Kulhadd, Lehen is-Sewwa, Il-Mument, In-Nazzjon).
Texts have been converted to UTF-8 and tokenized, which results in 53,396 unique tokens. Token frequency for each one is also provided.
This database was collected in order to develop tools for lexical statistics in the area of psycholinguistic research, especially for semitic languages. The PsyCoL Hebrew Lexical Corpus (U-W0329) was built on the same purpose.
