A Corpus of the Late Eighteenth century Prose
This 300,000 word corpus is composed of local English letters which have been transcribed and corrected. These letters were written between 1761 to 1790 to a steward in Cheshire, mostly by uneducated people on practical matters such as business, farming, mining, etc.
It is currently available in two formats: plain text with COCOA-style annotations (one file, 1,6 MB), like the Helsinki corpus, and HTML (7 files, 413 MB).
