Corpus of Early Written Latvian Texts

The Corpus of Early Written Latvian Texts contains approximately 1 million running words and is composed of ecclesiastical texts from the 16th to the 18th century (with a structural annotation). It was launched in 2003 but work is still in progress.

The corpus is designed to promote diachronic study of Latvian and to serve as a basis for historical dictionary construction.
