Prolexbase Multilingual Ontology for Proper Names

Prolexbase is a multilingual relational dictionary for proper nouns. It is structured in two parts:
- a multilingual part which contains the pivots (interlingual links with hyponym and hyperonym relations). Other semantic relations like meronymy, synonymy and accessibility are also included.
- a monolingual part (for each language) containing the prolexemes (with aliases, derivatives and corresponding instances).

It contains more than 51,000 prolexemes and 119,000 instances for French. It is enriched step by step.
Other languages: German, English, Spanish, Dutch, Italian, Portuguese, Serbian (data compiled in the Pavle Savic project).

The purpose of the NomsPropres project (a Technolangue project) was to create multilingual resources for proper name processing. Prolexbase can be a useful resource to improve the results of NLP systems (lemmatisation, coreference interpretation, multilingual alignment, etc.).
