UNL Latvian (-English) Lexicon
This Latvian lexicon contains 10,000 lexical entries. It was first developed within the framework of the Universal Networking Language (UNL) project, as the Latvian part of an English-Latvian lexicon.
The aim of this project is to overcome language barrier by creating a universal language, UNL, which functions as an interlanguage between human languages.
The UNL Latvian lexicon has been improved by the implementation of semantic types inspired by the Semantic Information for Multifunctional Plurilingual Lexica (SIMPLE) project.
Many other languages are involved in the UNL project: Arabic, Chinese, English, French, German, Hindi, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Mongolian, Portuguese, Russian Spanish.
