Lexicon for opinion mining

This is a lexicon of 14,155 words in Japanese and 56,728 words in English with semantic orientation for each word (positive / negative meaning).

Semantic orientations have been automatically computed using a lexical network through a spin model analysis. Words were extracted from the Iwanami dictionary (for the Japanese part) and from WordNet 1.7.1 (for the English part).

The lexicon only contains verbs, nouns, adjectives and adverbs. It provides for each word part-of-speech and semantic orientation indicated by a value between -1 and +1 (knowing that words closer to -1 are negative and words closer to +1 are positive).

This resource can be used in the area of opinion mining, sentiment classification or text classification.
