The Fixed1frDesign includes all database specifications including the full list of a designed corpus: a set of phonetically rich sentences and a set of application oriented utterances used within the French SpeechDat(II) database (ref. ELRA-S0076 in the ELRA catalogue).

The SpeechDat common specification totals 40 utterances per call, comprising a mixture of spontaneous and read speech. The purpose of each telephone call was to record the basic structure of the utterances mentioned below. All utterances are read speech unless marked as spontaneous.

The LC-STAR English-Russian Bilingual Aligned Phrasal lexicon was created within the scope of the LC-STAR project (IST 2001-32216) which was sponsored by the European Commission. It was designed for SST (Speech-to-Speech Translation) and ASR (Automatic Speech Recognition) applications.

The lexicon comprises 10,519 phrases from the tourist domain. It is based on a list of short sentences obtained by translation from a US-English 10,000 phrase corpus.
